Palworld Breeding Calculator — Every 1.0 Combination, Verified
Palworld 1.0 rewrote the breeding table across the entire Paldeck, which means almost every breeding chart, wiki page and YouTube guide published before the update now gives you the wrong answer. The clearest proof: Penking + Bushi, the combo everyone used to rush Anubis, no longer produces Anubis at all — in 1.0 it hatches Sibelyx.
This Palworld breeding calculator is built from breeding data extracted directly from the Palworld 1.0 game files, covering all 299 Pals and all 44,850 parent combinations. It runs entirely in your browser, so results appear the instant you pick a Pal — no sign-up, no ads between you and the answer, and it works fine on a phone with the game running on your other screen.
Reverse Lookup — Find the Parents for a Pal You Want
This is what most people actually need. Pick your target Pal and the calculator lists every parent pair that produces it, sorted with the lowest-rarity parents first so you see combinations you can realistically catch. Anubis alone has 234 valid parent pairs in 1.0 — with a list that long, the ordering matters more than the list itself.
Forward Lookup — Check What Two Pals Will Hatch
Already have a pair sitting in the Breeding Farm? Enter both parents and the calculator tells you exactly what egg you'll get before you spend a Cake on it. Useful when you're clearing out a box of leftovers and want to know which pairs are worth keeping.
Palworld Breeding Combos — 1.0 Quick Chart
A sample of popular targets, straight from the 1.0 data. "Parent pairs" is the total number of combinations that produce that Pal; the example is one of the lowest-rarity pairs available. Use the calculator above for the complete list for any of the 299 Pals.
| Target Pal | Parent pairs | Example low-rarity combo |
|---|---|---|
| Sibelyx | 495 | Needoll + Wistella |
| Rayhound | 357 | Flopie + Wistella |
| Bushi | 286 | Caprity Noct + Wistella |
| Kitsun | 268 | Needoll Noct + Smokie |
| Anubis | 234 | Fenglope Lux + Bastigor |
| Penking | 218 | Pengullet + Wistella |
| Suzaku | 197 | Fenglope Lux + Snock Lux |
| Astegon | 104 | Fenglope Lux + Silvance |
| Blazamut | 87 | Roujay + Solenne |
| Jormuntide Ignis | 2 | Blazehowl + Jormuntide |
Note how uneven that column is. Common Pals have hundreds of routes; Jormuntide Ignis has exactly two, one of which is breeding it with itself. That imbalance is why a flat "all breeding combos" list is close to useless in 1.0 and why a searchable calculator beats a static breeding chart.
Legendary Pals You Can No Longer Breed in Palworld 1.0
This is the single biggest breeding change in 1.0, and it's the reason so many "how to breed Jetragon" guides are now dead ends. Tower boss, raid boss and legendary Pals can only be bred from two of the same species. There is no shortcut pair any more — if you want the egg, you need two of that exact Pal first.
Pals that are same-species-only in 1.0 include:
- Legendaries: Jetragon, Necromus, Paladius, Frostallion, Neptilius, Bellanoir Libero
- Tower and raid bosses: Shadowbeak, Blazamut Ryu, Hartalis, Panthalus, Xenolord, Xenogard, Xenovader
- Others: Orserk, Grizzbolt, Lyleen, Faleris, Bastigor, Selyne, Shaolong, Silvance, Dandilord, Mimog
So the honest answer to how to breed Orserk in Palworld, how to breed Grizzbolt, how to breed Shadowbeak, how to breed Jetragon and how to breed Frostallion is the same in 1.0: catch or defeat two of them, then breed those two together. Breeding is now for passives and mutations on these Pals, not for obtaining them.
Anubis and Astegon are the notable exceptions — both are still reachable from ordinary parents (234 and 104 pairs respectively), which makes them the two best early breeding targets in 1.0.
How to Breed Pals in Palworld
- Build a Breeding Farm and place one male and one female Pal inside. Gender matters for eligibility — two Pals of the same gender will never produce an egg.
- Put a Cake in the Breeding Farm's box. Without one you'll see the "Not enough Cake" message and no egg appears. One Cake needs 5 Flour, 8 Red Berries, 7 Milk, 8 Eggs and 2 Honey.
- Collect the egg and hatch it in an Egg Incubator. Egg type is determined at breeding time, so the calculator's answer is final before you incubate.
Set up a Wheat plantation, a Berry plantation and a Ranch with Mozzarina and Beegarde early — Cake is the actual bottleneck on breeding, not the combinations. A dedicated Cake farm is what turns breeding from occasional to continuous.
The One Pair Where Parent Gender Changes the Result
In almost every case it makes no difference which parent is male and which is female — the child is the same either way. Palworld 1.0 has exactly one exception in the whole game: Katress + Wixen. A female Katress with a male Wixen gives Katress Ignis; a male Katress with a female Wixen gives Wixen Noct. The calculator shows both outcomes for that pair rather than picking one and being wrong half the time.
What Changed in Palworld 1.0 Breeding
- The breeding combination table was revised across the whole Paldeck so strong Pals are no longer reachable so early — this is what invalidated the old charts.
- Tower boss and legendary Pals became same-species-only, as listed above.
- Mutation was added: a small chance per egg of a stronger Pal carrying exclusive rainbow passive skills.
- New cakes were introduced, including one that lets offspring inherit multiple passive skills at once.
- The Paldeck expanded to 299 Pals, all of which are covered here.
Breeding for Passive Skills and Mutations
Once you know which Pal a pair produces, the next question is which passives it inherits. Offspring roll passive skills from both parents, so the standard approach is to first breed a pair of the target species carrying the passives you want, then breed those two together repeatedly until the roll lands. Mutation sits on top of that as a separate low-probability chance for a stronger version with rainbow passives. This calculator answers the species question — which Pal hatches from which parents — and passive-skill prediction is planned as a follow-up.
Best Pals to Breed in Palworld 1.0
If you're deciding what to spend Cake on, the highest-value early targets are the ones with strong work suitabilities that you can actually reach from common parents:
- Anubis — Handiwork 6 and Mining 6, the best all-round base worker in the game, and still breedable from 234 different pairs.
- Astegon — Mining 5 with strong combat stats, 104 routes.
- Blazamut — heavy Kindling and Mining, 87 routes.
- Jormuntide Ignis — the best Kindling Pal in the game; only two routes, so plan for Blazehowl + Jormuntide specifically.
Once your base is running, breeding shifts from acquiring new species to stacking passives on the ones you already have.
Why This Calculator's Data Is Trustworthy
The breeding table here is generated from tylercamp/palcalc (MIT licensed), which extracts combinations from the Palworld game files rather than transcribing them by hand. The exact data version and extraction date are printed at the top of the tool so you can see how fresh it is, and the build pipeline fails outright if the source ever regresses to pre-1.0 data — a hardcoded check asserts that Penking + Bushi does not produce Anubis. The data is regenerated after each Palworld patch.
