PAN Card Photo & Signature Resizer
One-click presets for Protean (NSDL) & UTIITSL — get a compliant JPEG photo or signature, or turn supporting documents into a ≤300 KB-per-page PDF, with the exact size, DPI and KB the portal wants.
PAN Card Photo Resize & Signature Resizer — Free, Online, No Upload
Applying for a PAN card online through Protean (NSDL) or UTIITSL means uploading a photo and signature that meet strict size, DPI and KB limits — and the portal rejects anything that's even slightly off. This free PAN card photo resizer fixes that in seconds: pick your portal, crop, and download a photo, signature or supporting-document PDF that matches the exact spec. Every resize and compression happens right in your browser, so your photo never leaves your device and there's no sign-up. It works as a complete PAN card resizer for both the NSDL and the UTI routes, on desktop and mobile.
Why Use This PAN Photo & Signature Resizer?
- Exact portal specs, built in. One-click presets for Protean (NSDL) e-Sign, Protean DSC and UTIITSL — correct pixel size, DPI and KB every time.
- Hits the KB limit precisely. It compresses your PAN photo to just under the cap — 50 KB, 20 KB, 10 KB or 30 KB — so the upload isn't rejected for being too large.
- Sets the right DPI. The required resolution (200 / 300 / 600 DPI) is written into the JPEG header, which portals that check DPI actually read.
- Photo, signature and PDF in one tool. Resize a PAN photo, compress a signature, or turn documents into a 300 KB-per-page PDF — no need for a separate app.
- Free, no sign-up, works on mobile. No account, no install, no watermark on your files. Use this pan card image resizer straight from your phone.
PAN Card Photo Size — in Pixels, cm, mm & Inches
The single most common reason an upload fails is the wrong PAN card photo size. Here's every measurement in one place — pixels, centimetres, millimetres and inches — so you can match the exact requirement. These are the digital upload dimensions; they're separate from the file-size (KB) limits, which are listed in the next table.
| Item | Centimetres | Millimetres | Inches | Pixels (at DPI) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| NSDL / Protean photo | 2.5 × 3.5 cm | 25 × 35 mm | 0.98 × 1.38 in | 197 × 276 px @ 200 |
| NSDL / Protean signature | 4.5 × 2 cm | 45 × 20 mm | 1.77 × 0.79 in | 354 × 157 px @ 200 |
| UTIITSL photo | 1.8 × 1.8 cm | 18 × 18 mm | 0.71 × 0.71 in | 213 × 213 px @ 300 |
| UTIITSL signature | 3.4 × 1.7 cm | 34 × 17 mm | 1.33 × 0.67 in | 400 × 200 px @ 300 |
| Passport-size photo | 3.5 × 4.5 cm | 35 × 45 mm | 1.38 × 1.77 in | 413 × 531 px @ 300 |
Note the difference: a PAN card photo is 2.5 × 3.5 cm for the online upload, while a standard passport-size photo is 3.5 × 4.5 cm (35 × 45 mm) — don't mix them up. The Custom mode lets you enter any width and height in px or cm, so you can hit 4.5 × 3.5 cm or any other size exactly.
PAN Photo & Signature Upload Specs (NSDL & UTI)
Each portal and route has its own DPI and maximum file size. Pick the matching preset and the tool locks the crop box, resolution and KB target for you:
| Portal / route | Photo size | Signature size | DPI | Max file size |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Protean (NSDL) e-Sign | 197 × 276 px | 354 × 157 px | 200 | Photo 50 KB, Sign 50 KB |
| Protean (NSDL) DSC | 197 × 276 px | 354 × 157 px | 200 | Photo 20 KB, Sign 10 KB |
| UTIITSL | 213 × 213 px | 400 × 200 px (B&W) | 300 / 600 | Photo 30 KB, Sign 60 KB |
NSDL (Protean) PAN Photo & Signature Resize
Filing a fresh PAN or a correction on the NSDL / Protean portal? Choose a Protean preset for an NSDL photo resize that comes out at 2.5 × 3.5 cm, 200 DPI and under 50 KB (e-Sign) or 20 KB (DSC). The same preset handles your NSDL signature resize — 4.5 × 2 cm, under 50 KB or as low as 10 KB on the DSC route. Supporting documents can be turned into an NSDL-ready PDF too (see below).
UTI (UTIITSL) PAN Photo & Signature Resize
Applied through UTIITSL instead? The UTI preset works as a dedicated UTI pan resize and crop tool: a square 213 × 213 px photo at 300 DPI under 30 KB, and a 400 × 200 px signature that's automatically converted to black & white. It covers the full UTI photo and signature size in one step — no separate UTI cropping tool needed. Upload, frame inside the locked crop box, and download files that pass the UTIITSL upload check.
How to Resize a Photo for a PAN Card
- Choose your portal preset — Protean e-Sign, Protean DSC or UTIITSL. The crop box locks to the correct aspect ratio automatically.
- Upload your photo and drag or zoom inside the locked crop box to frame your face (or your signature) correctly.
- Download the compliant JPEG. The file comes out at the exact pixel size, DPI and under the KB limit — ready to upload with no further editing.
Because it runs entirely in the browser, this doubles as a quick pan card crop tool and image resizer for PAN uploads — resize an image for a PAN card, crop it, and download, all without sending anything to a server.
PAN Card Photo Resize Kaise Kare?
PAN card ke liye photo ya signature resize karna bahut simple hai. Sabse pehle apna portal preset chuno — Protean e-Sign, Protean DSC ya UTIITSL. Phir apni photo upload karke crop box mein sahi se set karo aur download dabao — file bilkul sahi size, DPI aur KB (50 / 20 / 10 KB) ke saath ready ho jayegi. PAN card me photo change karni ho ya naya photo update karna ho, yahan se resize karke NSDL / UTIITSL correction form par upload kar do. Poora kaam aapke browser mein hota hai, koi photo server par upload nahi hoti.
Compress a PAN Signature — 10 KB, 50 KB or Black & White
PAN signatures have the tightest limits — as low as 10 KB on the Protean DSC route, and UTIITSL requires a black-and-white signature. Switch to Signature mode, upload a photo of your signature on white paper, and this signature compressor crops it to 4.5 × 2 cm (or 400 × 200 px), converts it to greyscale where needed, and compresses it under the cap. It's a standalone way to resize and compress a signature for any PAN form.
PAN Supporting Documents: 300 KB PDF Per Page
A fresh PAN application asks you to upload supporting documents as a PDF, maximum 300 KB per page — and the portal often rejects a file that's exactly 300 KB, so it has to be strictly under. The Document → PDF mode is a PAN documents PDF size converter: add one or more images (ID proof, address proof, etc.) or an existing PDF, and it builds a compliant multi-page A4 PDF, compressing each page safely below the limit (around 285 KB) so every page is accepted. Already have a scanned PDF that's too big? Drop it in and the tool splits it into pages and compresses each one under 300 KB — the fastest way to reduce a PDF to 300 KB per page for a PAN upload, with no desktop app.
How to Change or Update the Photo on a PAN Card
To change or update the photo on an existing PAN card, you file a PAN correction (Changes/Correction) request on the NSDL / Protean or UTIITSL portal and upload a new photograph and signature. You can do all of this online from home — the one thing the portal insists on is that the new image matches its exact size, DPI and KB. Use this tool first to resize your latest photo and to scan and resize your signature, then add the compliant file to your PAN photo update or reprint request. It works the same whether you're changing your PAN card photo through NSDL or UTIITSL.
